Magic Mustard

By Bonnie Lowery
When desperately searching through the cabinets for coffee grounds and burlap sacks to make enrichment for Alfonz, our volunteer Chuck came up empty handed. However, our volunteers can be quite crafty when coming up with fun things for animals and Chuck is no exception! Chuck was determined, he searched high and low, in and out, every nook and cranny of the sanctuary until he saw it: mustard packets and couch cushion covers from the 1970’s!
It was like an episode straight out of MacGyver. A little bit of mustard spread and voilĂ ! …new and exciting enrichment! Alfonz was ecstatic, he rolled over and over again in the mustard filled covers to the point where his fur was starting to get a bright yellow tint. After a couple minutes of the non-stop rolling, he laid down with a look of contentment and rested his head on them to take a nap. Who would have known that something so simple could bring such joy to a Siberian lynx?
